worth going stage 2?

Featured Replies

I have been seriously considering going for a stage 2 map.

I am trying to weigh up the pro's and con's for going through with it. I know there is a few guys that run stage 2 vrs's on here, was wondering if any of use have had any issues with going stage 2? My only other concern is i still have my original cluth and turbo iam not sure if they would hold out for long though with the extra bhp/torque.

I have been looking for fmic on ebay etc and noticed ones alot cheaper than the forge ones. If i remember correctly there was a previous topic posted about ebay fmic being not that great after a member had carried out logs on it etc, maybe iam wrong. Is the forge one really the best one to go for?

The car is on 85k so iam not to worried about that as it gets serviced reguarly and its well looked after. My only concern is the turbo and clutch though.

Any other input would be great

without a doubt yes its like the transformation from standard to stage one all over again

as for front mounts the best money can buy is the pro alloy one but thats £££ then the forge unit wich is very good @ £ 530 deliverd direct from forge

ebay front mounts are not the best and i wouldnt fit one to my car thats for sure

Is the downpipe sports cat/decat a requirment?

to get the most from a stage 2 map yes as the downpipe is a big restriction

i would buy a cheap decat pipe from egay and just refit cat come mot time

should see a very good increase in power

I've got a sports cat I'll sell ya!

I dnt need it now

Yes it's worth it! I went from a Custom Code stage 1 to a Shark stage 2 and it's a big difference. I have a cheap Ebay FMIC. One day I'll swap the IC core and keep the pipe I have :p
