Drivers sun visor

Featured Replies

Having damaged my drivers sun visor I now need to swap it out for a new one is this a big job anyone has to do it ?

TIA

One side pops out - the side nearest the mirror, and the other side is a plastic clip you unclip / remove with a small screw driver, then one screw behind that, all off and done. That is assuming you do not have a courtesy light above the sliding mirror, as there will also be a wire to mess about with.

How do you damage a sunvisor??

Partners high heels perhaps? :giggle:

I'm really struggling with this at the moment!

I'm stuck with the 'arm' clip: the side nearest the side windows / wing mirror.

I've flipped the little cover (easy enough) and taken out the screw. The edge nearest the driver/passenger drops down about 1cm and then stops. The edge nearest the windscreen doesn't want to move or come out!

I've tried prodding and leavering with a screwdriver, but its not budging and I'm getting too close to damaging the headlining and visor clip/arm.

What am I doing wrong?

I've worked it out...

It seems to be a question of using 'force' to pull the edge nearest the driver/passenger down overcoming the two small clips that hold it in place.

There is no way the edge nearest the windscreen will come out unless the other edge is out first as there is a much larger tab...

There is a risk of damaging the small tabs but as the screw holds this edge in place, I don't see that as a major problem.

Mine just pulled out backwards with a little care at that point, simple as.

Bit of brute force and manning up, I'd suggest! :giggle:

Did you do it?

Yes as per my second post above.

I now have two spare 'grey' sun visors in good condition...

eh? Yoursecond post...I cant find anywhere where you describe doing it..Sorry
