I have considered fitting them but buying a set of steel rims for them.

I've just bought some goodyear ultagrip 8's in a 195/60/16 for the wife's Beetle which is out in all weathers every day so looking forward to some crappy winter weather to try them out in. Knowing my luck we'll have thee warmest winter on record! (in my dreams)

All round. Putting them on the front only would be dangerous.

What type of rims did you put these on please? Do they clear the front discs?
