Do you guys come across anybody with the Close Ratio mod on 1.8T's...? Very keen on it...

Avoid it. IMHO.

I run quaife 6spd dog box and its nasty.. loadsa changes for no gains.

1.8T on 5spd when chipped is much nicer... more flexible without having to continually keep changing gears cos they're too close. Std 02M 6spd has closer ratios but still closer than 02J 5spd.

Surely a longer ratio is better for boost anyhow? Keep the turbo spinning?

A short ratio will be a waste imo.
