Air con removal

Featured Replies

I'm looking at removal of all the air con gubbins as it doesn't work and i don't need it plus along with relocating the battery i want to loose some weight off the front end to improve the handling. Question is has anyone done this on PD130 diesel asz engine?

Yup :D

Gutted it all out, took pipework out back to builkhead. Only funny thing was having to measure the new auxilliary belt length and get one in the right length, and you can use the original tensioner, but pushing from opposite side, i.e the ribbed side. Has worked fine in my setup for a good 2 years or more now though. :)

Hi Jason! Do you have a part number for the shorter aux belt?

it was literally "measure and ask for a belt that long" from a motor factors, that would fit the VW group. I would suggest doing the same as not 100% sure the belt will be the same for you. I imagine it would be though.
