vrs 24 hours old

Just read this from the start :S

So the OP does ~~~~~loads of miles a year and has grown up out of his phase for having show off 911 cars, and has now moved onto a motorhome and an RS6 avant? (very nice everything in one car....just..... and if freed of the limiter 190+mph!) and has decided to get a cheap (relative to the cost of the other cars he has) car to tax, insure etc but with the petrolheads desire for a small petrol engined car that is responsive and you can have fun in.....without losing your licence too easily!!! Well I think a Fabia MKII VRS fits the bill! And I bet his local dealer will like him........a car that is only 6months old with 50,000miles on the clock will sell ok as the engine will have been run in perfectly....also any "faults" will have had time to show themselves and be fixed!!...and it will still be under warranty!!! after 6 months my vrs will of done 25k ish so not to put to many miles on it and loose lots of money i will px for a new one

as i got the vat off and hope to on my next one its a win win for me and the dealer also as i know how many miles i will be doing i can order the new one a long time in advance and not have to worry about waiting for it

my 996 c4 was under dust sheets for the last year with no use so px it for the vrs no point in to many cars in the garage and yes your right the 996 has had lots spent on it in the time i have had it would of paid for half the vrs in service and parts so not a cheep car to own unlike the vrs

Sorry but 25k in six months is pretty heavy mileage and will have a big impact on the cars used value. The vRS used values have taken a knock because of the VAT free deal (i.e its now possible to get a nearly new vRS from a dealer for less than VAT free money) which wont help matters.

To put it into perspective I doubt our car will have done many more miles than that at 3 years old, never mind 6 months. If any dealer is going to give you strong trade money for a 25k six month old vRS i'd be surprised as they'll be struggling to move it on at a decent price with that many miles on the clock.

I love the vRS but there is no denying its supermini roots, particularly where confort and refinement are concerned; I genuinely could not imagine doing 50k a year in one. Personally i'd want something more confortable and refined for that sort of mileage even if it didnt have its sort of performance.

Exactly what I was thinking. It'd take me about four years to do that kind of mileage. Plus if I knew I wasn't keeping a car for more than six months and had millions of £'s of disposable cash to play with (as this guy evidently has), I'd be ragging the car stupid every time I drove it.

Haha yeah I do about 20-25k a year in my company car and I thought that was quite a bit!

Sorry.. :giggle: .......got confused :S ....even better.......I know a retiered bloke near me who swaps his new BMW's every 1yr to 18months! Specs them right and does enough milage to bed them in....doesn't smoke and the car is like new.....dealer sells the cars easily and he hardly loses any money as ther is a high demand for them!! B)

So you're not a footballer then ;)

50,000 miles a year, if you were to drive everyday, that works out at 137 miles per day :o don't you get bored?

was told by the my dealer the mods are ok :)

What did your insurance company say?
