Lol you have an RS6... kinda funny about my statement that M3 *ankers moving to rs4 and rs5.... luckily i missed rs6.

though i still think rs6 avant is a chav mobile.

I'm a petrol head too, if i could change my car every 6 months for a new sub 20k car i wouldn't stick to one, i would have a vRS, a Alfa Mito, a Polo gti and clio cup 200 and corsa vxr(aka Nike Trainer) etc etc,

Yeah i guess swapping them with only 50k onm the clock is better than running them into the ground with 200k at only 2yrs old and losing alot more money.

how many other cars do you own.

EDIT: Just thought, also if he kept the car past 60,000 the warranty wouldn't be covered so by trading it in at 50,000 rather than running a car up to 200k he keeps warranty intact

Mind you i'm biased, i have a very very strong dislike for post 2000 audi's....

i just think they are as common as Ford's where i live and they're over priced and underneath share the same technology and parts as a Skoda but at a huge premium.

Skoda is more honest.

Honestly though compare whatever Audi saloon you like to the equivelent Merc or BMW and they just don't add up.

As we have examined in other threads, no it doesn't. Engine mods mean Skoda could refuse to repair the engine or affected parts if something went wrong. But you still have warranty for other parts. They can't just invalidate the warranty and chuck it away.

When I say invalidates the warranty i meant on the parts that have been modified mpt the whole car

Porsche to Skoda?!?!? strange choice.

Maybe he wanted a decent car for a change. Or maybe, like my old landlord, was sick of getting it keyed all the time.

Not so easy to chuck the dog in the back of a Porsche either...

also good to take tow on the back of my motorhome B)

All sounds abit '1st April' to me -trading in a 911 for a fab vRS then planning to change it for a new one every six months, also owns an RS6 and motorhome.... not to mention the property/driveway on which the fabia is parked doesn't seem in quite the same league as that in the porsche photo.... :wonder:

Hats off to you if its all true  but something tells me we might be having our legs pulled a little on the forum? :giggle:

all true nothing being made up as for the diffrent locations of photos have you ever thought for one minute i have more than one house

also i have never had this much off topic chat on the subaru forum ( yes i have one of them to ) :p

Sorry but I also dont get the two vRS's a year.....you'll do your nuts trading one of these in every 6 months but fair enough; very rarely does a petrol heads car buying habits make sense! Last thing I'd be doing would be trading a 911 for a Fabia vRS. Fabia vRS is a great little car but its no Porsche!

In any case....996 Phase 1 Carrera, C5 RS6/Avant...both nice cars but on the grand scheme of things quite affordable to buy (but not run!) nowadays. If they were a 997 Phase 2 GT3 RS and a C6 RS6 then i'd probably think "footballer"!

He must be on footballer money if he can afford to chuck £30k a year on buying two Skodas as well as his other cars...

after 6 months my vrs will of done 25k ish so not to put to many miles on it and loose lots of money i will px for a new one

as i got the vat off and hope to on my next one its a win win for me and the dealer also as i know how many miles i will be doing i can order the new one a long time in advance and not have to worry about waiting for it

my 996 c4 was under dust sheets for the last year with no use so px it for the vrs no point in to many cars in the garage and yes your right the 996 has had lots spent on it in the time i have had it would of paid for half the vrs in service and parts so not a cheep car to own unlike the vrs

I'm guessing you mean a Skoda dealership is Revo'ing the car?

This will not keep your warranty with all Skoda garages. I think this one will agree to do work as they sold you the map but other Skoda dealerships may not.

Cars looking good pal :)

Incorrect this will be covered by all skoda dealers as i have had this e-mail at work that asks us if we would like to sign up to the mapping service through skoda, it is done through skodas own tuning company called quantum tuning using REVO softwear, skoda dealers currently sighned up to the quantum performance packs can be located on here http://www.skoda-remap.co.uk/Skoda-remap-dealers.aspx

oh and arn't you the same person who told me the exact same thing on a previous thread? instead of makeing presumtions try ringing us first and asking as we are a skoda dealer. :)

On a lighter note can i ask where you got that induction kit from? ive been looking around for this sort of kit

Fair play to you for having that much cash to burn then!

Just seems a shocking waste of money to buy a new fab vRS then modify it only to trade it back in again losing thousands after a few months. If I had an RS6 and/or Scooby to blast about in for fun then I don't think I'd bother modding the furby vRS (and invalidating its engine warranty) just for 6 months use as even modded its performance won't compare to the RS6. Not only that it will be a hassle removing all the mods again come trade-in time to prevent its value falling further.

Right, let's get this cleared up eh as you seem to have some misinformation or haven't read what I wrote ;)

I never once said YOU either cannot map the car or WILL NOT not honour the cars warranty, what I said was :

"This will not keep your warranty with all Skoda garages."

Now you might have had this email at your work but others might not. You say I have made a presumtion, well I've spoken to Progrss Skoda Bedford (quite local to me). They have told me that they DO NOT REMAP ANY CARS THERE and WILL NOT HONOUR WARRANTY WORK THAT IS AFFECTED BY THE REMAP. Thus proving my statement above as correct I think you'll agree.

As for the Skoda-Remap site, I'm not so sure I would trust a website that still does not have the figures up for what a rempapped MK2 Fabia vRS would make. I'd rather travel to a decent tuner like Shark Performance for them to do a remap.

Now i'm glad we've sorted that out and hopefully you'll understand my point so you won't need to try and question it anymore! I'm still waiting to see that link to the proven Revo filter gains by the way, I look forward to it ;)

Mostinp - Sounds like you've got quite a fleet going on

Its all gone a bit jeremy kyle in here!

Our test result show...

:giggle: not at all mate, a bit of light hearted banter , just don't want what I say to be taken the wrong way

1)the e-mail states all warranty work being covered by Skoda, it doesn’t matter which dealer does the work they put the claim of the work through Skoda and it gets authorised, your "local Dealer" may not have had this e-mail. If they are even signed up on the Skoda's mailing list so they may just be presuming its an aftermarket map done by participating dealers

2) You wouldn’t trust Skoda’s genuine mapping service because there are no power gains posted on their website? but you’d trust a company whose posted power gains that are clearly made up, as stage1 shark performance mapproduces 205bhp were they boast gains of 210-220bhp?

3) i never said i was getting you proof of the power gains made by the new revo filter what i said was if u looked was "revo say they have proved gains on the new air filter replacement so I’m taking there word that they have some sort of proof or you’ll see the difference on a dyno?" and if it doesn’t im sure they could have a couple of angry customers stating false advertising.

1) I was told this by the Dealer, maybe they haven't had the email but like I said that is what they have told me and that was what I said to begin with. Maybe they haven't heard but for the time being they will NOT cover the warranty if the map is at fault. If you don't believe that or you want to argue it with them then give them a ring!

2) Shark perfomance is on here, I'm sure they will be happy to explain things to you :p And no I wouldn't trust a website that couldn't even set and expectation.

3) They will have a lot of angry customers :p

Skoda's genuine mapping service?! Don't think that exists. If you mean Quantum remaps or whoever they are there is nothing that I can see on their website which indicates they are owned/organised by Skoda and they seem to offer remaps for most makes of vehicle....

They also don't claim to have full manafacturer backing, in fact they say "The remap is invisible to manufacturer’s diagnostic equipment. Additionally many forward thinking manufacturers turn a blind eye to a quality remapping service, knowing that a properly enhanced vehicle can only ever benefit them." -Doesn't seem to be the same as what you are suggesting. True they offer their own warranty on the software but if you had a major engine problem I'd worry about the level of back-up you would get.

Lastly they don't even have any figyres available for a fabia vRS TSI remap so I'm not sure they even have one available....

well im not sure there going to be able to explain much to me about why there figures are a abit optamistic,

And yes im sure if revo have been a little optermistic with there £45.00 filter they will have a lot of angry customers

To be honest Ben @ Shark is a good guy, the figures he has given before have always been close to what has been achieved, Janner will testify to this. Revo claim to make 210-225BHP on stage 1 and i saw an Ibiza Cupra barely hit over 200BHP.

If they have claimed to have a noticable gain from it then it would be false advertising, I will try and find out more information.

Probably best to call it quits now as we seem to have taken this a bit off topic, feel free to PM me if you did want to talk more
