ARGH!

Featured Replies

As you will know I have a set of the only 5x100 Comp TH's in 8x17. They were custom made for me last year after 4 months of talking with Compomotive and the company that owns the casting to make me a set with the custom drilled stud pattern and et32 Fabia friendly fitment.

However after less than 1 year the lacquer is badly cracked the the wheels need a refurb. So should I get them redone in the same Dark grey/anthracite - or should I go for Gold?? Hmm controversial???

Rims in question:-

This shade of gold

I do like the dark grey color, but i think gold would also look good. Would you get them to redo them or get someone else to do them?

Damn, not good from new wheels! What have Compomotive said, if anything?

I'm just emailing back and forth now to see if they will take them back and do them or should I just get them powdercoated - as the issue seems to be the stones flicking off the front rims and catching the rear rims on the way passed (even with mudguards on!)

GOLD would look amazing....

Do it!

Nah man i wouldnt , keep it sleeper looking with the dark colour, maybe a gold flake through it if you want a change?

Heard of plasti coat? have your wheels any colour you like and peel it off in minutes if you fancy a change? lol

Gold crackle finish would be different

£217 to get the wheels repainted by Comp!!! £50 per wheel plus postage back upto me. and i'll have to get the tyres stripped off and post the wheels down at me cost! Thats seem like a bit of an arse for over £1000 worth of rims!

Yes, doesn't say much for customer satisfaction.

More interested in selling than helping probably. :wonder:

Surely they need to give some decent discount for the fact they gone dodgy already?

Iv heard quite a few complaints recently (luke also) about the quality of the finish of compomotive wheels. Before I had my mk3 ibiza cupra I had a S2 blue indigo blue 106 rallye and I bought some white 16" Mos brand new and after 16 months the white finish had gone slightly yellow. So poor paint finish is not unheard of, shame they weren't more helpful though.

Just going to get a local company to powder coat them with a nice dark grey, but get them to make them a bit more flecked with a bit of fine glitter. £160 inc stripping off tyres and refitting them. they said they would do it over night for me too. drive in - drive out

Good deal that is mate

Link to the site for this?

sorry bit of a thread jack here but just noticed they do clear... that could be handy. I will buy some of that and do some tests.

Nice choice

That's how I had my OE rims done.

Click the link in my sig to see how they look.

Mine look almost black in the dark,

but when the light hits them...

Yowza they're sparkly!

Your comps will look mega like that! B)
