which wishbone bushes?

Featured Replies

I hope to be replacing wishbones soon. Choice between TT or Superpro for rear bush, and Superpro or oem for the front bush.

Superpro wins on durability and ease of fitting, the other options are cheaper.

Recommendations?

BTW I'm not considering oem rear bushes.

I think I read somewhere that the front bush never (or rarely) needs changing. That can't be right can it?

just superpro'd the fronts, very happy with them. less road noise too, not harsh like others have said.

Rears i've gone for powerflex. not fitted yet though...

I've never changed a front wishbone bush on any VAG vehicle I've owned.

The standard rears have voids that allow movement of the suspension geometry, this exaberates wear, usually a tap with a hammer leaves the centre of the bush on the floor and only the outer alloy ring in the wishbone. Thread a hacksaw through the bush and carefully cut through - when the blade traps stop and cut a second groove further around, when the blade traps again the outer ring will tap out with ease.

Clean the hole in the wishbone to remove corrosion and tap the new bush in.

5 mins once you've done a few
