iTunes help needed please....

Featured Replies

Hi all you techies,

My son's got an iPod Touch with some 200+ songs on it. He's been synching it with a desktop PC upstairs for some time now.

All was well until a few weeks ago, when the PC showed only about half of the songs on his iPod.

I installed iTunes on my laptop last night, thinking a fresh installation would pick them all up - but still iTunes only picked up 100 or so songs.

Any ideas how this might have happened or how to remedy it?

Thanks

Martin

All of my iTunes music is stored in an iTunes folder in the "my music" folder, if the music is not there you should be able to transfer the purchased music back to the PC by syncing the iPod, it should say something like "there is purchased music on your iPod that is not in your library, would you like to add it"

I think this only works with music bought from iTunes though.

Phil.

Has he sync'd with another computer by chance?

Yes, he was originally synched with the desktop computer upstairs. I think it went wrong when he gave my daughter his old iPod shuffle and synched it with the same computer (and same iTunes account)

What seems odd is that you'd think it would an all or nothing type deal, not half and half....
