Just new to the forum so thought I had better say hello! :-)

We have been waiting since 2007 for a dealer to open up near where we live otherwise it's a 1500km trip South. Well the Skoda dealership was fitted out 5 weeks ago, demo vehicles arrived arrived a week later. We test drove Octy manual petrol hatchback and Scout 103kw diesel with DSG on a Saturday 3 weeks ago, placed the pre-order on that day. After saleperson found that there was un-allocated and available in country 2 MY11 in shipping store and 1 MY12 on a ship docking in 2 weeks. As our current car had just packed it in we selected an MY11 Scout 103kw manual in Storm Blue Metallic out of the 2 in country at the VAG shipping arrival yard. Confirmed which vehicle we wanted and signed the deal on the Friday 2 weeks ago.

Picked it up last Friday with 22km on the clock and already we have run up 890km! Only additional options fitted was MDI for the daughters Ipods and a towbar as Australian Octavia Scouts are pretty optioned up to start with. I still don't know when we'll use the heated front seats though as we live in the Tropics!

There is a problem with the MDI install done by the dealer however which has removed access to the HDD and the sub menu's for copying music to the HDD in the Columbus Nav/media centre, the dealer is now getting Skoda Australia Tech support to look into this fault.

I greatly enjoyed the wealth of information and discussions on this site during my research into which model etc.
