skf any good?

Featured Replies

my petrol vrs 57 plate needs its cam belt+water pump doing and my questions is,has anyone on here used a skf cam belt kit and water pump?I can get the kit for £185?What sort of price would it be to use genuine vag parts?Does anybody know of a good garage in the sunderland area to do the job?Any help or advice would be good as this is my first vag car in over 8 years :p Thanks

Genuine parts shouldn't be much more than that. When I got my timing belt and water pump replaced on my old 56 plate petrol vrs the timing belt kit was £151 and the water pump was £40.32 both prices Inc vat. You also have to replace the stretch bolts too I just got my dealer to do the change though.

They are the engine mounting bolts. I had to ask on here when mines was getting done and tech1e answered lol

Why do you need to replace engine mounting bolts? What is so special about them?

One time use only. They are torqued and then angle tightened just like a head bolt. If you were to use em again they would probably break but also you wouldn't achieve the correct torque. Not good on an engine mount or anywhere else!

Does anyone know the torque figure and angle for these engine mount bolts?
