VW Golf/Fabia Alloys

Featured Replies

Ive got a 2003 Fabia TDi Estate and found a Guy selling some Alloys of his 2003 Golf GTi------15 Ins-----5 Stud fitted with 195/15/65s he s not very helpfull

all he tells me is he has seen these type of wheels fitted to a Octavia BUT will these Wheels fit my Car?

That all depends whether his Golf is a Mk4 or Mk5. If it's a mk4, they will just bolt straight on.

2003 will fit. Thats mk4 - but those tyres will be too big - You need for fabia, 195/50 R15 I think.

Thankyou Guys!!

Yeah 195 50 15 is what you need, its what i run on my mk3 gti wheels which are on my Fab, £38 for a Toyo T1R per corner ;)

Sorry to hijack, but this is about the same thing.....what would happen if I put 195/65/15s on the fabia? tyre calculator says the difference is 10%, so the speedo will be out of sync. Although, given that when it says I'm doing 70, GPS says 64, so may not be a big deal.

Will it rub on the chassis? Suspension is standard.

Only because I've seen a set local to me on ebay going for a good price (so long as there's no last minute manic bidding)

Found another with 205/55/16 off a Bora......7% bigger according to tyre calculator.

*i meant to say 'rub on wheel arch' above....apologies for being a noob!

oh..theres a 205/40/17 set...balanced and ready to go....+0.97%...........but in Aberdeen!! :(

First two are NO NO - 205/40 R17 is fine, but obviously on 17" wheels :D

24 hour courier £25 easy

Will 17"s make me look too try-hard on a MKI fabia :p ...apart from having a harsher ride!

Is there any leeway on the tyre sizes or do they have to be exactly one of the following: 185/60/14, 195/50/15, 205/45/16 and 205/40/17?

Hmmm....which ones are worth a punt?

I just put a set of Mk3 Gti rims on my Mk1 Fabby. 195 50 15 tyres. Such an immediate difference - looks much smarter and having more rubber on the road helps a lot! :-)

^^ I had those on my old furby....although i didnt realise they came off a gti till much later!

Does this damage look too bad?

It's repairable but doesnt look dangerous in anyway.

Thank you, Sir!

Seller doesn't specify, but these are the famous audi TT competitions, right? Or does VW have sets that look similar?

Also, are these the ones where the lacquer seems to peel and doesn't look good unless is always polished up to the mirror finish?

Those are comps yes, and they already appear to have correct profile too.

Yup, seller listed tyres as 205/40 and 20p test shows enough tread, apparently.

Bit of a noobie question, but will the bolts on the steelies be fine? Or do TT comps need longer ones?

Also, are these more cumbersome to maintain looking decent than your average alloys? Ive read several threads where theyve been refurbed and painted....down to taste or to increase longevity?

What's the most you'd pay for tt comps with tyres? Completed listings on ebay are from 150 to 250.....

The standard bolts for your steel wheels will be fine with OEM alloys. You might need different bolts if you go for aftermarket wheels.

Thank you :D Just neet to get my hands on a set of McGards or something akin to that.
