New tyre fitted.

Featured Replies

Had a puncture this morning with a new tyre fitted at the road side. There is white stuff leaking out as per picture below. Is it anything to worry about?

Might be just a soapy solution that fitters use when fitting tyre's, makes them slip on easier

Hopefully! :)

And so you can all laugh at my miss fortune. Here is a picture from this morning. I will never hit a curb going round a roundabout again!

Standard bead sealant/lube.......just wash off with a sponge/brush and a bit of washing up liquid! B)

"Should have gone to Spec Savers"

Your tyre is crying. LOL

As said soap solution used by tyre fitter to ease tyre over alloy edge of wheel.

Suggest clean soap off quickly, as it sets and is a beggar then, to get off wheel. (voice of experience)emoticon-0148-yes.gif

the new tyre isnt up to the immense speed rating of the octavia vrs and thus is melting....reccomend you swap it for a new one asap.

lol seriously though, just looks like usual tyre fitters solution.

You might want to check where that trolley Jack has been positioned under your car for any damage. It look likes the recommended jacking point but the end of a trolley is not a good fit unless an adaptor is used so there's a risk of damaged sills.

What was wrong with fitting your spare
