My (wifes) 1.2TSI Monte

Featured Replies

Hello everyone. New to Skoda ownership but just purchsaed the little Fabia Monte in red for ahem! my wife. Had to jump through a number of hoops to get it under the VAT free scheme as not many left out there in stock. Finally managed to persuade a dealer in Kent to part with theirs in exchange for a vehicle held by my own dealer. Couldn't get the Climate control unfortunately but it did come with rear sensors and sunroof. We had the side strips fitted as extra and I think they set off the looks perfectly. Seen a few in red on here but 1 or 2 pics for you any way

Now that looks really nice

I like the rubbing strips, its just a shame that they aren't gloss to match the wheel arches.

Dont worry about not getting climate control, really no great loss. Climatronic system is ancient now and not the best, only reason people tend to spec it is because it looks a bit flashier in the dash.

nice motor enjoy

Yeah to be honest it was more of a looks issue. Saw 2 cars side by side and the Climatronic just looked better. Never mind, Air Con works just fine.

I also had the Paint Guard finish applied to it. Having just cleaned the car it appears to bead the water really well and is supposed to last the lifetime of the vehicle. Anybody any experience after a year or so of washing?

got my side strips painted red on my monte , got some roof bars today from skoda £165 for my euro trip

Very nice monte B) and in the best colour too ;)

Paint guard is nothing special tbh after a year or so there prob won't be much protection left on the car it's just another way of dealers getting more money from you. A regular wash routine and good quality wax will keep you car looking tip top my boss has a golf thats meant to have autoglym life shine but it looks dull as dish water now so much so I decided to do a two stage polish then a coat of wax and mow looks like new

Very nice indeed.

Nice car. Looks stunning in red against the black.

On the one hand I agree, and it wouldn't be much of a drama to have done. On the other hand, it would slightly defeat the object..??

I guess so, but so many modern cars have colour coded rubbing strips these days it makes the black plastic ones stand out a little more than usual, especially when the door handles and wing mirrors are colour coded.

Remember why bumpers are called bumpers. Not much use for bumping if painted :giggle:
