Iphone connection (USB)

Featured Replies

Hi there,

Not long had the car and now realise that I need to try and get a connection(er) fitted for my iphone for charging and playing through the standard HU.

Looked around but cant see anything that matches to what im looking for.

Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks Ross

32 views and not one reply?

I have a connect 2 for playback and it's replaces the changer, but it doesnt charge the phone. The newer version might charge, worth a look

I got MDI can use navigate music on it from HU and charges (I use iPod classic normally but works on my friends iphone 4 as it will with any dock connector) Would retrofitting if you don't have it be an option?

We fit IO players which work pretty well.

Thanks for the reply.

Yeah I think I may have to retrofit it, looked everywhere and through everything and doesnt seem like I have any connectivity apart from the aux socket.

Thanks for the rest of the replies guys.

Xcar looks good, but I would be interested in seeing how well it looks on the standard HU. The only downside to the connect2 is you can't see whats playing on the iPod, but I use shuffle so it's not all bad. Shame it keeps charging when you turn off so I have to remember to unplug it when I get out the car

Don't bugger about with nasty third party solutions - retrofit an MDI interface. I've just refitted the one from my old car into my new one and it's a relativll easy process. It's neat and does the job well and most importantly, it's invisible if you want it to be.
