Humax HDR T2

Featured Replies

Just picked one of these PVRs up yesterday. Although have to wait for the 28th Sept for Freeview HD to come online(not quite the right term!).

Seems a good bit of kit. The menu's and user interface seem very logical. The remote also controls TV, DVD & AUDIO, which I did not know about.

Not yet recorded anything, but the reviews say that you can record 2 channels and watch another depending which signal the channels are transmitted on.

It has USB front & rear, and it seems to play loads of movie formats DIVX/XVID (& HD versions), MP4 with AAC & AC3. With the PS3 friendly .m2ts & .ts you cannot fastforward so I am going to stick with .mp4 as PS3 also is happy with .mp4 & AC3 5.1

There is a big following on the Net for these and there is plenty of custom firmware about to activate other features.

Recording on the Humax is very simple, you just select the program on the EPG and press OK. You can set the timer to come on early and run on later. You should also have the link facility where you can record a whole series of a programme, but you have to make sure the timer start stop is on not set to start early & finish late. Be careful on some channels where they put a short news broadcast in the middle of a film and the film is in fact two programs, so you have to select both progs or you only get the first half of the film.

When recording two channels you might find that some channels are not available to watch live as they are 'grey' on the EPG,a part from that we have been very pleased with the two Humax freeview PVR's and the Freesat PVR that we use.
