Standard Exhaust System

Featured Replies

Hi all,

having read a lot of the recent exhaust posts i started to wonder about the standard system.

by fitting a sports cat 100cel/200cel should increase power/torque is this correct?

would it be possible and easy to fit one of these sports cats to the Original octyvRS system? (would the bore of the standard system cause any problem?)

would this mod be worthwhile or would the standard system restrict flow too much?

Just thought it might help those wanting to keep the standard look of the car but help the performance and even keep cost down.

Kenny, AIR Supersprint do a replacement pipe for the small back box. Takes away some of the restriction and gives a bit more noise, only a bit mind. :D

would like to keep the back box standard.

just wondering if you could replace the OE cat with a sports cat. and more importantly would it make any difference?

i would assume so.

the aftermarket kits have been made to match up to the standard system

i.e. a blueflame cat back system would fit the OE cat so there is no reason why a blueflame d/p and cat wouldnt fit the back section of the standard system.

it depends how restrictive the middle and rear boxes are on the OE system though. i wouldnt think there is much difference in the bore of the aftermarket system.

you'd have to enquire with one of the aftermarker systems manufacturers.

You would have to cut off the standard cat as it's a single piece with the dp.

I imagine you would get some benefit from a freer flow cat and standard system.

Don't know whether this would give you the CEL light though.
