Anyone got an iPad and a Parrot bluetooth car kit?

Featured Replies

I've long thought about getting a parrot kit like a mk9000 but not had much use for it other than as a bluetooth phone kit. However I now have an ipad and I was wondering how well the parrot kit works with the ipad. Anyone tried it?

Does the ipod lead on the parrot kit have sufficient juice to charge an ipad? None or just slowly?

Does it happily play music from the ipad over bluetooth or wired connection?

Will the ipad play music over bluetooth and allow a user to do other stuff on the ipad at the same time?

If I was playing a video on the ipad could I get it to play the audio via the parrot kit (out the car speakers)?

I assume you can connect a media device and a phone at the same time, can you do both by bluetooth simultaneously? (I have a HTC Tattoo phone running android 1.6, should work with these parrot kits)

Anyone in South Manchester/Warrington areas running a Parrot mki9000/9100 car kit and would let me have a play?

If it doesn't then this should be okay.

Cheers, I know you can get separate ones but tje parrot (AIUI) has an ipod lead that will charge and play an ipod/iphone.

Battery life is pretty good in the ipad and more than enough for all my car journeys to be honest but its nice to know if you can charge through the kit.

I'm pretty sure you could get it to send the audio via Bluetooth at least. A word of warning though, the parrot uses it's own amp which is tiny. I had a mki9200 in my volvo and it sounded pretty pants against a CD.

Really? I'd heard the parrot unit was ok. I held off buying the much cheaper (at the time) IOplay unit a long time ago because I was worried the sound was not up to much. The parrot is a much bigger unit and supposed to be much better.

I was very disappointed..it sounded "ok" in my 06 plate vectra but when I had it installed into the Volvo I could immediately tell the difference between the cd player quality and the parrot. The vectra sounded pretty much the same.
