Third Service

Featured Replies

Recently had the Yeti in for its third service. It had been bleeping madly at me for a week or three, ever since 29000 or so miles to go get it booked in and done.

So off we went at the allotted time of half ten, plodded across the road to a Wyevale Garden Centre where they do great coffee with free Wi-Fi connection ready for the phone call to tell me it was all done. "About an hour and a bit" the man had said as I left the keys with him along with a couple of comments about bits they should look at quite closely, and sort if needed.

Two coffees and a sticky bun later the phone rang - after only an hour and a quarter - to tell me to come and fetch, so i waddled over the road again to see my previously mottled grey/brown/dung decorated Yeti gleaming in the sunlight in Aqua Blue - which, actually, I found I remembered once upon a time.

Eased myself in through the showroom, past a caramel custard flavoured Yeti SE (which they were not allowed to sell, he told me) and hoiked out my over-used and under-funded bit o' plastic.

How pleasantly surprised was I - on three counts? Twas only a hundred quids for it all, neatly appended with a written report and specified estimation for work that would perhaps be due in the forseeable future, like new shoes and replacement stopping stuff which he called brake something or other, and thirdly a report about most of the things about the car's condition and presentableness for transporting me and mine in safety. It hadn't fazed them at all that all three back seats were absent, as was the boot-lid-shelf-dooflick and there was a nest of anoraks shoes boots and musical instruments loosely heaped upon each other everywhere. They'd Dysoned and dusted and de-dunged everything they could reach in the cabin, which positively shone, and had a nice new delicate perfume - much, much better than all-pervasive cow poo odour of the previous day. Spotless.

To crown it all, after that very reasonable £100 for the service, their sales chappie bid me £17500 to trade it in for a new one. Sounds good to me............how about you?

That sounds a very healthy offer for a car that has done 29,000 miles. Well worth getting the paper and pen out to do a bit of maths.

That also sounds as though you have a good dealer generally.

George,

we've decided that Dewi is going to go to Swansea next time, although I haven't told Sheila Wyevale is across the road!! :giggle:
