Stuff the new Octavia vRS

Featured Replies

After a few days with me driving the Fabia vRS and the wife having to make do with my lovely Octy vRS I have decided I really do prefer diesel driving.

So I think I will have just as much fun in a new Octavia diesel with the sport body kit.I will still wait and see what happens later in the year when the new vRS is launched and I won't go into the many and varied rumours about what it might have to offer engine wise/kit wise /4x4 etc but I am pretty positive it's diesel for my next car.

Love the oomph it's just fantastic.Love being a lazy sod with the gears.Love not having to work a car hard.It just eats up the road.Might see if the garage has the 140 bhp diesel octy(2.0?) I can have a play with.Be interested to see how it compares to the Fab. :D

So whether or not petrol is faster, diesel seems to offer up so much more fun(I know I will end up eating my words if they do have a 225bhp 4x4 for

Get it remapped, the torque increase is something else, you WILL leave Clio 182's and CTR's in a straight line run.

have to be honest im surprised!

my girlfriend has a fabia vRS, great quick car but i wouldnt swap my octy for it. im just not a fan of such a low reving way of driving.

PS. i take it you havent had your octy remapped? because it gives the same feeling as the fabia but last longer up the rev range!

personal preferance and im sure you wont go wrong whatever you choose

Interesting that.I was thinking of the Jabba route as I posted on another indecisive thread!Don't get me wrong I get an ear to ear grin when I can drive properly in my octavia. It's just that the everyday town driving doesn't allow as much fun as the diesel offers.Acceleration seems a bit more instant.

As I said though,no real plans till I see whats on offer with the new one and no serious plans to dump the current car.If remapping will give me that feeling then its not an expensive option that I am cosidering. Will keep reading peoples posts on how it changes the way the car feels :)

:iagree: Octy RS is probably more fun if you're in the mood to work it hard, but for day to day living, I prefer diesel. Not tried a Fab vRS, but the 2.0d Octy is a hoot!

see if you can get a drive in someones remapped car, its such a difference!

Sounds like the Octy vRS TDI could be the one to go for? (168PS 2.0 16v TDI ala new Passat).

I saw a new Octy estate at a small motor show in MK shopping centre a few weeks back and chatted to the dealer. He mentioned that one of their techs had wrung 210PS out of his Furby and I was curious as to what could be done with the Elegance 2.0 TDI Octy to which he replied that there will be a 170 PS vRS diesel.

I ordered a 2.0 TDI elegance estate in late Jan using my last VAG group discount (the company I work for has just been sold by Audi to Mahle). I was a bit disapointed to have missed out on the forthcoming VRS TDI, doh.

Hopefully Jabba will be able to sort the ECU and possibly add a second intercooler, I'll have to have a snoop at a new Passat sometime???

Wasn't Pilling Skoda by any chance? Wonder which tech that could have been? ;)

Jabba will be having a go at the 2.0 16v pd very soon.

:hilarius: ;)

And yes, it will be interesting to see what Jabba (and other tuners) can do with the new 2.0 tdi block :)
