Booked in Tuesday £100 plus vat :-)

ep3 turbo. My decat and piper arrived today!

Going to fit it this weekend! Did you cut off the smallest step on the downpipe to make it fit right? Or did you cheat somehow?

Heard off some boys round here that once you cut the end bit off it makes it too short to connect the piper too? IF so how did you combat this?

Also mine didn't come with any mounts, did yours?

Sorry for the 101 questions like, but just don't wanna strip it all down to find the pipes too short! :giggle:

Hows the manifold fitting going? If so did you see much of a difference?

Cheers

Marc

Hi There,

In answer to your question of how a decat will fit to a Piper exhaust, it depends on which decat you have purchased.

I have had both types fitted to my Piper system.

Here is the original 1 piece Decat that I added a reducer to the end to allow direct fitting to the piper system. As they are not long enough

Here is the 2 piece system that if you have this you will find the end section far to small to fit into the piper, so you need to cut off that first thin section a weld a larger and longer section to front downpipe section like below pic.

Or get a opposite reducer pipe that will fit over the end section and into the piper system. I opted for a cleaner welded section.

Cheers Bowders!

Just so happens I went for it and managed to buy an extra length pipe from Piper that fitted over the 2.5 step on the 2 piece decat and then cut it to length to fit the cat back system perfectly.

The sound is amazing! Really happy with it! Only thing is even with new bushes and just can't get the exhaust to sit right in the cut out of bumper. A little more playing with should sort it out though!

About to fit the Pro-Alloy intercooler this week, but I'll need help with the catch can mod and SAI / N249 / N112 Delete mod's... I've read all the reviews and guides on how to do this but none of them are clear!

Wish me luck!

Ah ok cool.

Yep they do sound very good these exhausts.

Getting the back tail pipe to fit equal in the bumper is a lot of messing about. I even bought new exhaust hangers which made a big difference as the old rubbers were worn and making the tail pipe sit low. I still ended up wrapping big cable ties around the metal hanger though.

The PRO alloy FMIC should fit easy enough.

Good luck with the SAI / N249 / N112 Delete, again not a really hard job but give yourself time and you should be ok.

If you get stuck just shout...

Mark
