I'm visiting the dealer next week to have a pre delivery discussion on VRS diesel estate set up. I don't have Maxi Dot (or auto lights/DSG) so would be grateful for any advice on what useful adjustments can be made via VCDS. I've searched the forum and can't find a specific topic relating to this. I have read that some dealers are not too knowledgeable when it comes to tweeks so wanted to get some info first. Thanks.

Hi, I am no experience with Dealer tweaking VCDS (in fact I think they use a different system), but there are some "value" upgrades you can do.

I added:

1) Cornering Fog

2) Needle Sweeping

3) Enabled Aux on Bolero

4) Auto door lock

5) Rudimentary Coming Home light (need to activate with a flash on high beem before leaving car)

I am not sure if the KM/H to MPH is doable on the non-maxidot cars - I don't have maxidot and didn't try as I am used to KM/H conversion anyway.

PS - it would be the same on the Octy as the Yeti.

I would not have a Dealer do it they are clueless and sometimes charge,. Get a friendly member on here to do it, sometimes just a pint or 2 in payment. http://briskoda.net/...em-vcds-owners/ I have got xmas tree flashing brake lights + Flashing indicators ( emergency stop) My alarm to chirp, ( you can have off if you wish)Unlock all doors with one plip( hate doing it twice) Lights on when you unlock , and both rear fogs activated, ( although if yours is a Octavia FL( facelift) you cannot activate the last one

A dealer will not charge for pre delivery changes, setting customer requirements is part of the PDi process.

Some of the items however are tricky to do with dealer diagnostic equipment, if it isn't included in a test plan we can't often do it. I get around this by having my own copy of VCDS.

Well...you guys were bang on. Basically the dealer didn't have a Scooby Doo what could and couldn't be changed through VCDS. Bless em they even went out to the car to see if the 3 flash indicator was already set up! and it was! (head in hands)...Lordy Lordy

What dealer did you go to?

I am based in the Midlands but my Norfolk based employer went to Vindis near Bury St Eds. Cheers.

Just checking it wasn't us or I'd go kick some back sides lol
