DRL bulbs

Featured Replies

One of my DRL bulbs has gone and i have 2 questions

1 - the manual says the bulb is a PY21W SLL - is that a common or garden 21w bulb (according to the guide in Halfords, no Octavia's have DRL's fitted :giggle: )

2 - how do you replace them ?

thanks in advance

Yep - as far as I know it's a common 21W bulb.

If you remove the blanking plate next to the bulb (inside) on the underside of the bumber, you can then unclip the DRL unit, uncouple the power and replace the bulb.

Just as I'm posting too :)

SLL means super long life. So perhaps a bit duller than the ordinary bulbs in order to get a longer life. I fitted SLL bulbs to my rear number plate.

It is reported that the manual contains a slight error in respect to the bulb type.

Here is everything you need to know including where to buy...

Fitting instructions in the manual...

Thanks for that, Silver, don't know how I missed it, although my manual is obviously different from yours (it's figure 246 in mine).

However, my faulty drl has fixed itself since yesterday, so I'll just leave well alone but put the spare bulbs i've bought in the glove compartment

Doesn't really seem like it's lasted a super long time though does it?
