VW's RCD510 into pre-FL Octavia II?

Featured Replies

I saw a thread elsewhere that suggested somebody had already fitted an RCD510 to their Octy but what else is required to replace a Stream? I assume they are a different size and will therefore require a different fascia panel - it looks to be the same dimensions as the Columbus but I really want DAB and this seems to be the only way to retrofit and retain an OEM look (I know illumination will be a different colour).

Will it fit then and does anybody, who may have done it, have a pic?

Actually I think I would need 1Z0858069L2AU, can anybody confirm or deny that?

Fascia part numbers listed on the install guide here: http://octavia-vrs.com/cms/content/mfd2-install-guide

Not sure about the DAB aspect though, I wouldn't have thought the VW RCD-510 has the required hardware built-in for that, and it would utilise a separate module, usually fitted in the boot area. You also have the type of antenna required for DAB to consider.

DAB is now built into the RCD 510. it will need a DAB antenna input definitely.
