Throttle body Help! Outcome

Featured Replies

Hey,

Im wondering if anyone in the Salisbury/Southampton area has a spare Throttle body that I could put on my car to check if this is causing my rough Idle? Otherwise its a Skoda UK Tech visit and I dont have money to throw away!

Cheers

you cant just pop a TB on I dont think mate.

needs vag com on it I do beleive

Check for split pipes and vacuum leaks around the throttle body - squeeze and inspect all large and small hoses.

Remove and clean the throttle body with carb cleaner and do an adaptation via VAGCOM, check for fault codes stored, not all codes put the dash light on.

Don't need vagcom or VCDS lite. It will eventually settle itself in. Swapped mine twice with NO issues whatsoever.

Spot on TB will adapt itself. After refitting turn the ignition on & you'll hear a whistling sound from the TB for about 30 secs wait for it to stop & then go for a drive varying the throttle position & it'll start adapting fully.

Hi all,

Just an update on the fault. Its sorted. Garage didnt have a clue ordered a second hand TB off Fleabay put it on car ran worse. Took old one apart, gave a quick blast with airline then sprayed internals with IPA (electrical contact cleaner), dried it out then popped it back on, reset using VAGcom and hey presto all is fine. Its now been two months and no hesitation or surging revs and also got the coilpacks changed at the garage as part of the recall!

RESULT :D:D:D
