Note that if you are on variable servicing and reset by the maxidot, you will be switched to fixed 10K services. To reset a variable service, it requires VCDS or a dealer visit.

Thanks for pointing that out as mine is on variable

I do have VCDS so I will sort that out when I have it serviced

I think I just discovered this the hard way. Service info on 5 day old superb was -- so I selected reset in the MFD and now it is on 10K services. Will have to pop to the dealer to get it changed back to 2 years of 20k again.

Anybody got any ideas why it was telling me -- for miles till service and -- for days till service instead of 720 ish days and 19,800 ish miles?

it takes a few days / miles to calculate

Dealer told me to do this via maxidot then I pointed out I was on variable servicing.

Then told bring it in for computer reset.

Makes you wonder who knows best.

I've got a 2011 Superb. I have reset the service indicator using the on board computer. It was really simple, just as another post has said: using the steering wheel RHS buttons (start with ignition on and then hold down 'return arrow' for a second and use the up & down wheel to choose and click). First go to 'set up', then choose 'service interval', then choose reset and it's done. This doesn't change the service interval to a fixed 10K, mine is still variable. However, don't use reset to factory set up or anything else - It's all in the owner's manual on page 19.

What time (days) and distance does the maxidot now show to next service?
