caddy pickup 1600cc 1.6v help wanted please

Featured Replies

HELLO ALL,JUST NEEDED A LITTLE HELP WITH MY CADDY MK2 ,

IT STARTED LIFE AS A 1300CC AND HAVE CHANGED IT TO A AEE 1600CC ENGINE AND BOX AND NOW HAVE A POLO GTI 1600CC 16V ENGINE TO GO IN.

I KNOW I NEED TO MODIFY THE ENGINE MOUNT ,JUST WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT THE WIRING AND I HAVE A FLYBY WIRE GAS PEDDLE ,IS THERE ANOTHER THROTTLE BODY I CAN USE SO I CAN USE A CABLE CHEERS FOR ANY HELP

Yes the throttle body from an afh engine code is a direct fit and is cable operated, you also need to add on the accelerator cable bracket from a german spec polo with ajv engine code.. The polo gti siemens ecu is a tough cookie to crack to be honest, for any chance of that engine running anywhere near right with all the vvt gear and it's relatively high compression ratio you are going to need to use the factory ecu from that engine along with it's drive by wire system, the main stumbling block with this is the immobiliser system, it's worth trying to find out if there are any ecu specialists who can remove the immo coding on it for you for it to work in free-running mode. Bear in my that those ecus are filled with glue to prevent unauthorised tampering as well. Failing that you are going to need the clocks and keys from the same donor vehicle to get it going.. It's not as hard as you might think to wire it all up

Which gearbox are you going to use?
