Is it compulsory to provide copy of my driving license to them? With years of driving I have never been ask before by any insurer. Can anyone advice me on this? I current just took out a policy with sky insurance.

Send them a photocopy, and an invoice for whatever they charge for a change of details.

A friend of mine has had to do the same when she took out insurance for her 2nd car this week,maybe its a new thing as i renewed my insurance last month & wasnt asked to do so.

I renewed last week and they asked for this. Must be a new thing.

My son has just had to do the same when insuring a motorbike.

I had to do the same thing when I first took out my policy with Sky.

A colour photocopy of both parts was good enough for them

From all your responses maybe it's a new policy to include your photocopy driving license. I may give them a ring and ask why.
