Octavia service

Featured Replies

Just wondering about this variable servicing. The 2004 TDI 90BHP it has fixed service intervals, ie every 10k. Is it possible to have this model switched over to variable servicing, or does it not have the facility.

Was also wondering what oil, ie semi/fully synthetic the car comes with from the factory. Reason why i ask, its for topping up before the 10k service.

What makes of oil do you guys recommend after 10k for this model. semi/fully synthetic and what grade 10w/40w

Cheers

Have a look at the sticker on the floor of the boot - or on the inside front cover of the Service Schedule - and see if QG1 is listed. If it is, your car can be set for variable servicing.

Skoda UK's site now has a handy reference document listing engine oil requirements by model, engine and type of servicing. You can download a copy by clicking on the link below:

That is quite scary,

I have my car on extended servicing and on the form it specifies that the oil should still be changed every 10.000 miles. Not once have I been told that when buying the car and getting it serviced. Fortunately I've just had it done for it's 40.000 miles so will be ok for the next 8 months or so!!

Is there a list of the different oil manufacturers (and their products) that meet the appropriate VW specs???? Particularly VW 503.

Full details of the service requirements are in your car's Service Schedule (service record) which the dealer completes after each oil change/service.

Known suppliers of 503 00 oil are listed in the Guide below:

Another quick question guys. Does the TDI 90bhp octavia model have an engine immobiliser as standard.

Thanks!!!

Now, in Audi world, they recommend......no, specify that there S, RS and TTs are lubed with 503.01 which presumably is a better oil for the higher output turbo vehicles. Would anyone say that a modded car would benefit from the use of said oil?????
