1.9tdi - PD130 rocker cover removal.

Featured Replies

I would like to removed the rocker cover off my engine to examine the injector loom as there is an occasional misfire on cylinder 3. What I'd like to know is do I need to be aware of anything? Do I need to change the oil (I'm guessing I wouldn't do), attach a new gasket?

Iirc you have to remove the upper timing belt cover to get the rocker cover off..but that's no hardship really.

I think it might do too, but its just one clip at the front and back from memory. Accessible easily enough.

Just loads of 10mm bolts to undo. Check the rubber seal before refitting as if a little brittle/cracked, I would source a new seal from a motor factors. A low mileage engine (ish) shouldn't need that seal changing yet when removing/refitting the cover.
