DMF & Clutch

Featured Replies

Is it advisable to Change the DMF when you change the clutch or only change it if it's giving problems. Also does it have a lifespan like the cambelt and you should change it after a certain amount of miles.

Cheers

I would change with clutch if it's covered more than 80,000 miles. Release bearing as well. Other than that, no service interval for DMF, some go on forever.

On a VRS I would change it if the car has done more than 40k. They are usually very weak and there are two reasons to swap...

1. So the new clutch and flywheel are perfectly flat and match together. If the old fly is worn ever so slightly at an angle it will cause judder.

2. Its probaly going to go at some point and the hard part is talking the 'box off.
