whiteline 24mm rarb

Featured Replies

Ok I have finally decided to purchase a RARB. Was having a look at the one on the awesome website. It seems to come with all the bits that I need to fit it. I take it there fairly straight forward to fit? I am no mechanical expert but surely it aint that hard.

I have the standard suspension and spiders I am hoping it will vastly improve the handling even with the standard set up.

Cheers

Sorry to kinda hijack but I'm all new to the Octavia. Does it have a rear arb as standard? My mk4 golf didn't have one so I was looking at the whiteline one for that but never got round to getting one

Yes, very easy job to do DIY. About 40 mins it took me, but quicker if you are more experienced and have all the right tools at hand. I have the adjustable one, but can't really say i noticed much difference between the three settings. IMHO it makes a huge difference to handling, which in stock form isn't that great. I also found the RARB made a significantly greater difference to handling that coilovers which cost 4x as much.

From memory they can be a bit stingy on the grease, so make sure you don't overdo it on one side and run out on the second side, or have some extra grease handy.

Yes they certainly are.

I'd rather use a good quality aluminium anti-seize than that stuff anyway, personally speaking.

Cheers guys,

I take it they come with fitting instructions? Just want to be 100% sure about fittment.

Yes they do.

a RARB is on my to-do-list, I was going to go for the 22mm Whiteline to go with my standard FARB.

To add to this guys guys, are there poly bush options here?

The bushes that come with it ARE urethane by the looks of mine. ;)

All the after market RARB come with poly bushes, as they are typically a performance improvement to handling and therfore get better bushes than the std stuff.

I did a DIY for fitting a whiteline but there are very easy and come with good fitting instructions.

I also have a spare whiteline 22mm one for sale as fitted a 28mm one some time back.

PM me if anyone interested

Been looking around for a kit for my Octavia TDI Mk1, i hve looked and know there is no anti roll at the rear, is there somewhere a guide for fitting one as i am interested in the whiteline kit above

Should come with instructions but its pretty easy otherwise.

I have r32 front arb and Neuspeed rear 28 mm arb. Handling is now transformed with excellent turn in and more stability at higher speeds. Was really easy to fit as I got Tony Gilham to do them at his new garage in Dartford. Was only an hours work for both bars.

I have looked at the whiteline kits and they all seem to be only half a kit, i.e. 1x rear roll bar, 2x bushes, but no fitting kits or links, and as my car does not have a rear anti roll bar means i am lacking half of the fittings?

Think this is right I think I have an adjustable whiteline one! If I'm right the whiteline kit clamps to the rear beam and at the ends there are 2 drop links that attach to the bottom of the rear shock mountings via a spacer. So in a kit there should be 2x clamps (with bushes I think) 2x drop links and 2x spacers .

Also all octys have a rear roll bar they are part of the rear beam and are hard to see

So am i right in thinking it is an upgrade part on the TDI, as i was told that the TDI doest have a anti roll as standard? i am getting lost with all this and its far to cold and wet to get under my car lol.

Either way itll be an upgrade. If you cant fit it/be bothered yourself any garage will be able to sort it.

Getting it fitted aint a problem, just want to make sure it fits before i shell out nearly £200 as recently i have checked and double checked if an item will fit, paid and it arrives and doesnt fit. lol.

It will...all rear beams are the same.

Yup it'll fit no problem
