Just been looking about the net and seen that a local company I deal with at work are a superchips dealer so I might be able to get some trade discount but are the maps any good? I'm it looking to to much to the car maybe exhaust and remap if the price if right would that be ok?

Personally I'd rather go for tailored maps, since some good dyno tuners will do a basic rolling road tailored remap for however YOUR car is running, for less than £250, and give you some real good advice where to look to next.

At least you've got some comeback if it's ****, whereas a chip is often going to be real hit and miss. Chap I work with fitted quite an expensive chip to his (then brand new) Audi A4 about 3 years ago and he's been moaning about poor economy and duff response ever since. He's not had the sense to remove it.

I had a Superchips Bluefin "handset map" on my Mk2 VRS. The map made a fair bit of difference (~200bhp / 320 lbft on a PD170 diesel) and after a year I got 2/3rds of my money back, selling the unit. The advantages were you could take it off at any time and it came with an indemnity policy, warranting any failures due to the remap, as the car was only 18months old at the time. However on a out of warranty car, I would have to agree a tailored map would make more sense. Try Shark or Rtech, both have had good reviews on here.
