hi i new in this forum .im from malta iand i would like to change my steering wheel with one that is multi function insteed of the one that i have?can i just take if off and replace it or i have to do something else? tkx

Owing to the airbag and electronics involved it would be impossible to do it yourself. A Dealer wouldn't take it on either and the cost would be prohibitive anyway.

Might be worth sending Shark Performance a message on here, they do such conversions I believe. You need the wheel itself and possibly a control unit for the column and a bit of a coding. Given the right parts there is no reason why a dealer wouldn't do it, I know we would.

I saw not so long ago there was a guy on ebay who fitted GTI Multi Function Steering wheel for abour 400 quid incl. fitting and all the parts (inc. the wheels) to VWs including Tiguan and Golf.
