First issue with VRS

Featured Replies

Well had the first major issue with the VRS today which has resorted in me being VRS'less for the meantime.

Happened this morning on the way into work. My window wipers suddenly decided to stop wiping the windows....in the rain...handy eh?

Got the Skoda Breakdown Assistance number, gave them a call and they very promptly had a man out to have a wee look at her.

We both thought it was just a fuse - Cutting a long story short, nope. It turned out to be the "DMC wasn't sending signals to the something something bla dee bla..." Wasn't paying too much attention, was having a hard day at work as well as needing to get to the dentist and having to fix my car. (My day's been pretty sh*te)

SO FOR TONIGHT (and hopefully not very much of tomorrow) I'm driving this beauty....

AND I HATE IT!!!!!

Just thought I'd share it with you guys. If your having an issue with wipers, could be a possible faulty DMC something or another.... :)

Oh and my VRS was the "first one of these" the RAC man had ever dealt with! Filled me with confidence but he did his part :) Had a very good service from them actually. 10/10

Is that a Corsa?? Report them to the UN for human rights violations.

Had a similar problem with the Monte last month. Turns out the motor was blown, fixed within 2 days,so back to happy motoring

Certainly is. Had it out for a "blast" (LOL!!!!!!!!!!) and by god I don't know how i've ever lived without my furby.

I have to say though, it feels flatter in the corners but a lot more skittish. I feel like i'm going to tip the VRS sometimes but it still holds the road, the corsa gives an overconfident outlook on the road and sometimes you just hit the bends that little bit too fast....provided thers a very long straight before hand.

It's good though, because it means i'll start to re-appreciate my VRS all over again from scratch :D YAY!!!

I had a corsa as a courtesy car once........I feel your pain.....but as said the Vrs will feel so good afterwards :-)

Another thing I forgot to mention is.... I had to put the vehicle on my own insurance because apparently i'm not old enough to go on their insurance.

Cost me £25 for 2 days and a fiver for a DVLA check....Can I claim this back from Skoda?

Seems a bit **** that I get done out of £30 for the inconvenience of not having my car because they're product they have sold me, is faulty???

I'd fight for your money back...if the dealer doesn't sort it out take it higher to skoda UK. :)

What engine is in the beast of a corsa?

yes yes do tell, it's a car forum we can clearly tell it's a corsa

perhaps a little more detail.

A 2009 Vauxhall Corsa 1.0 Life A/C 60PS 0-60 in 16.1 secs and a top speed of 98mph. combined cycle 49.1mpg

Thats what i would expect on here

p.s. rolling pins roll less than most Fabia's tbh

I would have asked for something bigger/more equivelent to my current car like an astra/focus etc etc

A friend of mine had his CTR written off a few days ago and the women's insurance company tried fobbing him off with a Corsa, after 10mins of 'getting his point across' they agreed to give him one of there top premium car's.

The next day he got a call from the hire car firm asking if he wanted a manual or auto.

He said manual so they gave him a bloody TT-S, he said what's the auto then? they said a 5dr S3!!!! jesus christ he is one happy young lad now!

Apologies gentlemen! I was simply trying to point out the issues with my wipers.

The corsa however is an 11plate 1.4 SRI. 0-60 in roughly 11.5 seconds. Apparently 100bhp... 5 door, has the worst fuel economy in the world (possibly because its not mine and i'm thrashing the ballocks off it).

Yeah, I moaned about the corsa too and because it's going on my own insurance I don't quite understand why I couldn't have had a more suitable car. If my cars out of action for a while longer i'm going to moan and say i need something bigger because a 1.4 corsa doesn't handle the 30 mile daily commute that great. Plus the steering is so light the car seems to weave side to side and i feel myself constantly having to correct the steering which is a bit annoying.

I will most certainly be asking for the money back. I don't see why I should be out of pocket when they're product has failed me. I have not been given any word about my car yet though even after phoning about it today. Major inconvenience really but I'm not really that peeved.
