I seem to have some sort of weird noise devolping under the bonnet :S it sounds like a popping noise and only seems to apear on tick over when looking in the engine bay it sounds as though its coming from the top of the engine from the air pipe across the top where the air flow sensor is,also when sitting in the car with just the engine running there also what sounds like a grinding and the only way i can decribe that is it sounds like a shuvle scraping concreate which at first is what i thought it was some one out side but when i looked around there was no one there so i got out and its coming from under my bonnet :S

Well i brought it into the workshop turns out when i was cleaning the engine bay (because when i picked the car up the oil cap had been left off during the PDI ) i had knocked one of the vac pipes off the solanoid next to the supercharger causing quite a loud popping noise every now and then and the grinding noise was also due to lac of pressure in the vac pump apperntley.. well both noises have now stopped completley just by reconnecting the pipe i had knocked off.. funny how i had thought the noise was normal and only done somthing about it 2500 miles later
