Has anyone used Steel Seal to fix a blown head gasket? It's not for my Fun, but for the inlaw's Fiat Senticento(sp?). I don't belong to any other motoring forums, so I thought I'd ask here. They don't plan to keep it more than another year, so we're not looking for a long term fix, just something to keep it going for a bit longer.

I looked at replacing the head gasket myself, but by the time I buy the gasket, Haynes manual, torque wrench, a handful of new hose clamps & other consumables and put up for day of the inlaws sticking their heads in asking stupid question and making comments, I figured it wasn't worth it, if the Steel Seal would do the job.

Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

yes as long as you follow the instructions fully it does what it says on the tin!!

used it in a rover K series that the customer just needed to last another 2 months and it "fixed" that.

If I remember right you have to make sure the system has only clean water in and no antifreeze when curing it.

Yes what have you got to lose in an old Fiat?

You might want to try some K-seal (it's a lot cheaper ) it kept my son's pug 205 diesel going and it's now onto another owner at almost 20 years old !
