New Skoda owner in Glasgow

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I own a continental Skoda Octavia (2009) - that is :-) wheel on the left.

23,301mi to date, last revision 14,300.

I'd like to know a good deal for a comprehensive revision.

Cheers

Paul

Hi and welcome aboard.

WTF is a comprehensive revision :wonder: ?

Sorry for the bad wording - meant a full inspection. The last head to toe inspection of my car at an authorized Skoda dealer was some 16000mi and 18 months ago.

9000mi ago I've had another less meticulous one with oil and filters change only, but I think I've read in the manual that there was a longer checklist to go through.

The tires are also worn out... so I assume it's about the time I went to a more thorough run.

Cheers,

Paul

Ah right, a full service. Sorry, I didn't mean to sound cheeky - as your car is left-hand drive perhaps English isn't your first language?

I'd just put it into Henry's in Kyle St., Townhead - not brilliant, but not the worst. If you don't fancy main dealer prices then I'm sure someone on here will be able to recommend a good independent.

Audi VW Repair Centre in Bothwell (and Clydebank) has a good reputation but only marginally cheaper than Henry's.

Thanks for the link and thanks for enriching my vocabulary which is peculiarly lacking mundane essentials. There is no harm in stating the obvious and English is not my first language indeed.

But I'm not too frustrated by this given its average level of mastery by the natives themselves...

:D Like it - yes, it won't have taken long for you to have discovered that!

You may want to put a post in here http://briskoda.net/forums/forum/60-tuners-workshops/ asking for recommendations in the Glasgow area.

Cheers

Thank you all for the nice suggestions.

Finally I went to Henry's Skoda for the full service.

I believe the price was not as astronomic as I had been warned off by some rumours before - or else they're offering big discounts these days; anyway the service was fast and the car seems to run sensibly better than before.
