Octy Scout 1.8tfsi remap and tuning

Featured Replies

Hi all,

just a quick query.... i'm looking at buying a scout 1.8tfsi 160bhp.

Dont want to get onto the diesel is better debate... (i had a A3 140 dsg about and it was dire regarding faults)

looking at it as a sensible car opposed to my normal (daily driver at the moment is an Alfa GTA 156 SW banging out 260+ N/A bhp)

so... looking at the various remap agents its possible to get 210 - 220 bhp with 270lb/ft from a standard car? (so not far short torque wise of a 2.0tfsi)

Not expecting it to be a scorcher but i need it to be relatively brisk and capable of going over the odd field / construction site

has anyon egone this route?

and how easy is it to strap a bigger turbo on and remap at a later date? i know the old MK1 vrs's were relatively straightforward to do this to.

There is more to it than just bolting a bigger turbo on.

If you do a remap will be instantly required to get it to work properly!

Sorry - what I meant was strap a bigger turbo on and remap at the same time - at a later date ;)

From searching it appears that there's only one guy gone down this route - with good results.

However given discounts on scouts compared to vrs I think the £4k price difference will end up leaving the scout idea :(

I had stage1 remap and now stage2.

Stage 1 - Shark - around 205PS about 250lb

Stage 2 - Revo - 243HP & 300lb/ft

Stage 1 is easy, no mods required, just ECU remap, and the car will be very much more capable.

Stage-2 if you have money.
