Climate control

Featured Replies

HI folks. Currently think about buying my first Skoda. The car i'm thinking about buying(53 Elegance TDI estate, 88k miles) has the digital climate control. I'm normally of the opinion that the more bells and whistles there are in a car, the more there is to go wrong. Does the digital unit ever give trouble, or am i worrying unneccessarily?

Thanks

Toby

I would say, worrying unneccessarily, so long as you keep using it and keep it filled they seem fine  , I sold mine at 4-5yr old with 131k and it had been filled once in that time and still ICE cold

Matt, I think he meant the digital control panel and motors etc, but your point is still valid. My aircon has never been filled in 8 years AFAIK and is pefect.

Marge, the digital panel hardly ever gives trouble, there are very few, if any posts about it going wrong. One problem that is quite common is the recirculation flap motor going haywire, but it doesn't cause a problem really, just makes some weird scratching noises behind the dash.

I would say you are worrying needlessly.

there was a post on here where you could press a combination of buttons to get the climate to do a self check - anyone got a link?

Well, I've had an Elegance for 5.5 years, and beyond needing regassed (nothing to do with the control panel then) I've had no problems with the Climatronic.
