Question regarding buying winter tyres

Featured Replies

Went to the local fitters today that done my tyres. They said that my tyres were an "oversize conversion" so the insurance would be fine. It is an undersize conversion where I may have trouble with the insurance. Apparently, they also said the speedo would only be "1mph or so" out, whereas you guys have been saying at least 3mph at higher speeds. Ultimately, they won't change my tyres.

What are the dangers of driving around with bigger tyres? I've had no problems with grip or anything, although there is a lot more feedback through the steering wheel and the speedo problem I can acclimatize to.

P.S: These tyres killed a rabbit last night. :/

They are trying to avoid paying out for their **** up.......get hold of your local trading standards (usually run by the Council) and tell them whats going on!

Never heard of "oversize conversion".....utter *******s to fob you off with....and as for 1mph out no ####ing way!!! Go to another tyre garage like ATS or even Kwickfit and ask them.....also print out the stuff from the tyre calculator sites and shove that under their nose!!!
