Skoda Fabia - Not able to start my car

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have Skoda Fabia 2000 model(1.4 Engine), From the last two months, after starting the car when i take it out from parking, steering goes heavy for 20 secs and goes back to normal automatically, but now the car is not starting. I could see Power steering light in the dashboard after turning the key(one Level), when i turn next level(Ignition) to start the car, it does not start. Please help me out advising the best solution.

Hello and welcome!

Try posting this in the main Fabia I section as you will get a proper response. Main causes are a low battery (the car needs a very high capacity battery as the PAS system draws quite alot and people just fit a small one in) also check all the fuses and the metal strip fuses in the top compartment of the battery case .....worst case is the PAS sensor has failed (eary versions are known to fail) and aboout £120 to £160 is max for the sensor....about 1 to 2hrs work max for DIY....just alley keys, axel stands and patience is all that is required. B)

Hi,

Thanks for the information.

I have phoned my RESCUE assistance, they tried starting the CAR, but no luck so, the battery has been replaced as it has gone FLAT, now i could start my CAR :) I have not come across the Power Assistance problem now, but still how do i check if my PAS Sensor is faulty or not ?

I have noted something, still the Power Steering sensor and battery symbol appears on my dashboard, once i start my car, these are gone.

Regards,
