A Track Day - A Fun Day

Featured Replies

This Sunday I participated at a Track Day and boy did I enjoy it! I really wanted after all the latest modifications done to the Furby (Okada coils, metallic manifold and re-map fix) to enjoy the result and it didn't let me down. What did let me down was me... I studied all videos and it seems that I'm either afraid to enter some turns full speed or my lines are just wrong. I've been in this track twice before. Once with the car stock and the next with some mods added (no major stuff) and my times were very close to what I managed yesterday. The car being much more powerful, it is clear that my driving needs work. Fun time was sliding at corners :giggle: and the intense tire smoke on a few occasions (rip).

Anyway check it out and also I've included a part where I'm chasing my friend's Felicia (kit car) and makes me loose control.

vRS owners please don't get bored by my speed - I'm only naturally aspirated :D even though there is something satisfying about revving the engine up to 7.400rpm and going nuts on a bend.

Nice video. The lines look good from what you can see through the windscreen, what track is it?

Lap times in a modified car is a funny thing, on top gear they modded a car with £3000 worth of big brakes, better wheels and tyres, and with the stig driving was still 3 seconds slower per lap! Even when they started adding engine performance modifications and coilovers, the times started coming back to the standard lap time. Seems it takes alot of fine tuning and bedding in to get improved times.

Yeah great video, i enjoyed that...you need someone in front of you all the time, seems to make you push a little harder ;)

That was the reason I started pacing up - but in the same time it was the reason I made mistakes cause I was following the car in front of me and not the lines of the road.

Honestly though only a race track can "tell" you what to improve on your car and NOT city streets.
