Logic Defying Brake Lights

Featured Replies

This is a tad weird, never noticed it before on any car:

Key out of the ignition, doors locked, push on brake pedal and the brake lights come on.

How/why/surely it cant be normal?! Please discuss

Completely normal

Perfectly normal, it's a safety precaution.

Yeah they all do it

Ah fair enough, i'd just never noticed it before ever. But then again its not something you look for i guess. Altho i will now...!

Not that I do it.... It's illegal.... But it's quite good for when you're stuck in traffic on a hill or slope and have turned off to save fuel cuz it's a full on Jam...

And like Ross said, safty... cuz if ya car dies, it's nice to let the car behind know your breaking to pull over ;)

I was the same as you though, it's the 1st car I've had that did it.. but then, the only other cars I've owned are a 84 Uno, 89 Renault 5 and a 93 Escort.. Then my last Fabia, bit of a jump on the tech front :D
