Fabia SE Seats

Featured Replies

We have had the Fabia SE (1.2Tsi 105) for a couple of months now. All is well with the car, really pleased with the choice, great little engine, plenty of space, really good air-con and not a bad drive all in all.

However (it's not my car) whenever we go on a long(er) drive, I get "promoted" to pilot. Came back from Cornwall a week or so back, it's about 250 odd miles for us, but I got a proper bum ache after a couple of hours at the wheel.

Has anyone else noticed this and if so, any advice to get rid? Never had this problem before, not even on my rough riding MiTo.

Not sure what car you had before this but up until 3 years ago I had generally driven large Japanese hatchbacks. Bought my first German car, a VW Passat, and immediately began to notice the increased firmness of the seats and ride. Took a while to get used to but now bought a little Monte for the wife and find this even firmer. I think you'll get used to it but try playing about with the squab height a little.

Big V Thanks for the reply. TBH most of my cars over the last 20 years or so have been German. And yes, you're right the seat bases are a bit on the firm side. I had a Merc C220 Sport Coupe a few years back and that had VERY firm seats. But this is the first time I have ever suffered (and I mean suffered, it was pretty painful)with such bum ache.

I was hoping someone might know of some product or other that might help (I mean to go on the seats ;) )

Have a play with seat height and steering wheel reach to get under knee support as that's usually the cause for a numb rear end.

My wife has had spinal fusion and is very fussy about car seats but the Fabia SE seats seam fine to her. I get lower back ache but again find the Fabia fine.

Might be just the need to juggle the driving position.

Cheers
