Alternative seats?

Featured Replies

I was wondering...

I'm not particularly keen on spending the best part of a grand on replacement seats... And I am always on the lookout for something different...

...Me and a mate have currently got a debate on which have been the most comfortable seats we've ever sat in and both of us ended up saying Volvo seats were awesome (at least from my experience).

Was wondering whether they'd go into a Fabia (size wise)...?

Does anyone know of anyone who has attempted this? I see some very nice seat sets for volvos in full leather... And i'm not afraid to do some fabrication to make em fit on the runners ;)

  • I love the look of these seats, anyone know if these would fit?

  • Came from a 2006 TDI Sport. I paid £135 for them, and they came with a CD changer. I sold the changer for £30 and my original vRS seats for £150, so they cost me -£45

  • I had a Saab 9000 way back and the seats were awesomely comfortable. Quite big though. :wonder:

I'd have to sit in them to compare them ;)

Was looking to kinda break from the norm really, see whether anything else would fit in.

Was looking at either Volvo or Saab seats - they regularly come in leather, have always been comfortable to sit in from my experience, and some of them look fantastic. The Saab 9000 Aero seats are GORGEOUS.

You're more than welcome to if you're coming to this month's meet.

They look great, Mind if I popby one evening and have a look? Do the rears fit straight in as well?

Yeah sure thing. Yep, everything just fitted straight in emoticon-0100-smile.gif

What polo are they out of and how much did you pay? :)

And quite heavy from what i've seen...

...4 stone per seat from what i've been reading!

Hmmm. But they would be amazingly comfortable...

I might have to pay a visit to a scrap yard and measure some up.

mK2 VRS seats fit?

According to Recaro they have the same base frames so should go straight in.

I'll be trying to fit a Recaro Sport Trendline in mine soon...

Even the rears too?

No idea about the rears, sorry.

Depends on the use of the car IMO...And to a degree suspension compliance!

Best seats for utterly ruthless erm... progress - Impreza STI 5 type R or Impreza P1. 1985 Cavalier seats weren't bad either. Astra MK3/4 seats weren't bad at all for both support and comfort.

I have a set of Polo GTi seats I was planning on putting in my vRS. But I found a vRS with leather.

Here they are:

I reckon they're the best seats hassle-to-cost ratio for the Fabia.

Will any polo seats fit or would you need a specific year/s models ?

2002-2009 or 9N/9N3 are straight fit.

thanks Tim :)

Yep, you mentioned the "H" word. Standard VRS seats I find don't quite have the bolster strengh. Combination of frame size and cushion resilience, I think but I assume all/most sporty Polo/Ibiza/Fabia seats would be the same...

Well, it turns out it was a lot easier than I was expecting:

Ok, so they're not quite the right colour, but that doesn't really bother me :)
