150BHP Per Ton?

Featured Replies

Can any one tell me how much power a Fabia VRS needs to make to get to 150bhp per ton please?

About 200bhp I make it based on the car weighing 1300kg

197.25 to be exact

Is that doable with a stock PD150 turbo? i was after similar power to my old Corrado VR6 197.25 is very very close to what a stock VR should produce.

Didnt I see somewhere on here that the 1300kg weight is based on full tank and some passengers?

^ Could be. Me and a few mates are going to go down the weighbridge at some pint and find out

No idea mate, just did the sum in my head :p

I've deliberately not learned anything about turbos as I'll

end up buying a better one if I do.

Could be, again I just helped the chap out with a ball park figure

using good old fashioned mental arithmetic.

I'd be very interested to see how that turns out

I should think you could get quite close with a PD150 turbo. You'd need a good intercooler. And a clutch unless you want want to limit torque at lower revs.

You could also fit a decat. If you do, tell your mapper and have it tuned to take account of the decat.

It's getting a Forge intercooler and new 150 turbo fitted as we speak, limiting torque sounds sensible.

Im pleased that 150BHP per ton may only be a map away.

You can take quite a bit of weight away... Rear seats and spare tyre & tools out plus a near empty fuel tank and you would be on nigh on 150hp per tonne after just a re-map.

How much did the PD150 turbo and intercooler set you back? I'm looking to do that too.

I emailed one of the turbo companies mentioned on here and didn't get a response :-/

Turbo was £600 to my door and the intercooler was £650, Turbo center uk are great to deal with just give them a call, they accepted the s*agged KKK as an exchange for the GT1749VB. The car came back today, as is with the Shark stage one map it pulls very very well, i am looking forward getting a little more from the car.

theres a couple of us running bens stage 2 maps on pd150s been rolling roaded between 190-205

Is it just a standard pd150 turbo you've fitted?

I had my car on the weigh bridge at the local rubbish tip a few weeks ago...

Driver

Full Tank of Fuel

Leather interior

Standard wheels inc the spare

1400kg (ish)

So for 150bhp per tonne you would be looking just over 200bhp.

Oh ok, so u hav the swap your existing turbo too? Do u take your car into them and they perform the swap or do u hav to do the work yourself? Don't know how I would do it otherwise as the furby is my only car

yep

D'you have the egr stuff to or a blank?

egr delete as in my sig

You dont have to blank the egr it will bolt on, the turbo needs re-orientating (turning on the manifold) but Turbo center uk did mine before they sent it.

Sorry. I can't see sigs on my phone so asked the question.
