Hi everyone ,

Have a problem with my fabia 19 sdi est, I have no battery light on start up and no charge coming from the alternater. I have put a new pulley on the alternater as the old one fell to bits. Now it just doesnt want to start.

There is fuel in the fuel filter as will some time run but only after a hell of a lot of churning over then just run lumpy as out and then will die.

ANY IDEA GUYS

Broken alternator sense wire at gearbox plug is common. Trace the thin wire from the alternator back to the plug and socket.

Yup, Like Moggy Tech said, very common... it's down behind the right hand fog light (looking at the front of the car).. On the vRS it's easiest to get underneath and pop down the under tray.
