Hub Covers for winter steelies

Featured Replies

My 15 inch steel wheel winter tyre package has arrived from mytyres.

Have seen the guys in yeti forum talking about things like these http://tinyurl.com/6flyhns and I wondered if anyone had fitted something similar to their fabia mk 1. Not sure these would fit due to the different PCD values on the different models.

I have a black vRS so think black steelies with hub covers would look quite good.

They look pretty smart as they are. Good find, but will they fit 15 inch steels?

I looked for the part number on google and the website where that piccy seems to be from suggests these are for 13inch wheels, but for all I know, they may fit both sizes?

and are these definitely for steels and not alloy wheel centre cap covers?

They're for steels, As for fitting 15's they cover the centre bore and wheel bolts, Which will be the same circumference irrespective of wheel diameter! All wheels are 5x100!

Pop into the dealers or TPS armed with the P/N and see what they say!

Thanks for the help Mike

I want some for my winter steels but they

are 16s. What will fit mine? And pics if possible.

"All wheels are 5x100!" well that's not true, I'd reckon that if these covers are for the VW T5 then they will be for 16" wheels and the PCD is same as Passat B5 etc - so a bit bigger. That also means that the wheel centre bore will also be bigger. For winter steel wheels, bought from mytyres, I eventually bought VW full wheel covers (for a Polo not a Fabia) - by the way, the 15" wheels supplied for the Polo were identical to the ones that VW supply - that being important if using VAG wheel covers as some of them end up clipping into holes on the wheels and not just round the rim. I ended up getting Golf covers as I liked the look or them, so needed to nibble away the area round the fixing bolts as they were for the bigger PCD - but they do fit on the rim okay.

My 16" steels are definitely 5 x 100.

I tried to buy some T5 covers but had a dispute with the seller

when he took the money, didn't send them and then gave me a load

of verbal abuse when I enquired as to their whereabouts.

Ebay resolved the issue and I got my money back but I never got to see

if they'd fit my 16's.

I hear what you're saying, But check the P/N again, 6Y0601151B

I intentionally searched for covers that would fit 5x100 PCD and discounted any from the larger chassis range!

what colour are the rims on the winter wheel and tyres packages from mytyres, silver or black?

Probably black but I'll tell you tomorrow when I dig them out of the Father-in-law's garage

Thanks, thinking of ordering some for my car was hoping they would be black rather than silver....

Well they are shiny black. Made me wash my car to make the paintwork match. Interestingly, the centre caps from my alloy wheels fitted onto the front axles but not the rears. They seem to be "blocked off" flush so the clips from the centre caps can't fit inside.

That's how it was with mine too.

Couldnt fit caps to the rear either.
